A Canadian Electronic Music Pioneer.No hype, no gimmicks a discography spanning 20 years.

 

Matteo DiMarr started his career before Djing on laptops and buying music online was even conceivable. DiMarr a Canadian House Music legend started his humble career in 1991 with his first release “M1-Feel The Drums” on Emotive records. The track was an instant hit and was a precursor of what was to come.

In 1993 DiMarr started and ran his first label called Jinxx Records. The label was an outlet for DiMarr and guest to release forward thinking music. Roger Sanchez, Oscar G, KOT, Nick Holder and PJ were some of the artist that appeared on the label. Throughout the 90’s DiMarr had a rash of singles out on various labels. The single “M1-Electronic Funk” swelled into another hit by DiMarr. The track was credited for being one of the starters of the electro movement. The single went to number one in France & Canada and had video play on MTV Europe.

In 2004 DiMarr started his new digital labels Reinvent Music / Mar186. Mark Mendes, MC Flipside, Dataworx ,Hatiras, Antoine Clamaran and Roger Sanchez are some of the artist to appear on the labels. 2008 saw DiMarr make huge waves again with his project House Music United. The track “Yes We Can” features the voice and speech of Barack Obama. The track was a smash hit, going all the way to number 2 on Beatport.com. The track enjoyed two top 10’s and one top twenty on Beatport three different occasions in one year and was the third highest selling house track of 2008 on Beatport.com.

DiMarr in 2008 also saw big success with his side project FPS(with Dataworx). Gaining another top ten on Beatport with the Remix of “You by Paul Harris & Steve Mac for Toolroom records”. Catching the eye of Mark Knight from Toolroom records DiMarr has been signed to the label. Lookout for the releases on Toolroom early 2009. Stay tuned!
